Maqsood Saqib, the publisher of Suchet Kitab Ghar and co-editor of Monthly Pancham, began editing and publishing in 1986 with Maan Boli Book Series.
After five 'Book Series' issues, and securing the required decelaration for publication, he brought out the first regular issue of Maan Boli in February 1989. The editorial team of Maan Boli was capable, and for the next many years, it remained a highly acclaimed but solitary literary magazine for writers and readers of Shahmukhi script.
In December 1997, Maqsood Saqib published his last issue of Maan Boli, and due to disputes regarding its declaration, left the organization. The magazine ceased publication soon after.
In the same year, Saqib initiated Suchet Kitab Ghar and published its first title, the Shahmukhi edition of Gurdial Singh's novel 'Marrhi Da Deva' (Lahore, 1997).
In March 1998, Saqib began publishing Monthly Pancham with Faiza Ra'ana as co-editor, and both continued the traditions of excellance initiated in Maan Boli. From 1998 to 2009, Pancham may have been delayed but it has not missed an issue; and, Suchet Kitab Ghar has published over 90 titles so far.
Saqib is a writer of short fiction, and had published his first collection of short stories titled 'KahniaN' (Udm Publishers, Lahore) in 1986. He continues to write prose pertaining to the development of Punjabi language and literature.
Saqib lives in Lahore with his partner Faiza Ra'ana and their son child; and, is supported in his work by a professional and dedicated team of people.
